What is kernel-level anti-cheat?
Kernel-level anti-cheats such as Vanguard, Ricochet, BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat load a driver with the deepest access on your PC and run before the game even starts. User-mode systems like VAC sit alongside the game with far less reach. The deeper the anti-cheat runs, the more it can see, which is why the detection column trends higher for kernel-level titles.
Ban types explained
- Account ban locks the specific account but a new account gets you back in.
- VAC ban is a permanent Valve account ban that also blocks VAC-secured servers for that game.
- Game ban is a developer-issued ban tied to that title.
- HWID ban targets your hardware identifiers, so a fresh account alone is not enough on those games. An HWID spoofer is what resets them.
Detection strength
What the ratings mean: Low means the anti-cheat rarely catches well-made external tools; Medium means active checks that ban in waves rather than instantly; High means deep kernel scanning with a solid ban record; Very High means aggressive kernel scanning plus hardware bans and a strong track record of catching cheats.
The detection rating is a general guide to how actively and aggressively each anti-cheat looks for cheats, based on its architecture and track record. It is informational and not a guarantee. Anti-cheats update constantly, so treat every rating as a moving target.
