DBD's spectator system (visible in the end-game lobby for other players) only shows server-recorded game data, not your client's screen. The behavioural patterns worth avoiding as Killer: finding the final Survivor hidden in a corner of the map within 10 seconds of the hatch spawning, consistently knowing Survivor positions before any perk activates, and never falling for any information denial play. As Survivor: knowing the Killer's exact location before any line of sight or perk explanation, coordinating unhooks at superhuman speed across the map. These read as obvious to any manual reviewer.

Yes. Both are faster with cheats active. Daily rituals that require specific actions (stun the Killer, unhook Survivors, hit players in specific states) are completed more reliably when you have full information about game state. Tome challenges with complex conditions like 'interrupt a Survivor healing a specific number of times' are trivially completable when you know every Survivor's health state and activity in real time. Bloodpoint earning is also dramatically higher when you play well-informed games that end efficiently, since BP is earned per-action and longer trials with more interactions earn more.

BHVR's primary enforcement response is permanent account bans rather than widespread hardware flagging. Hardware bans have been reported in severe cases, particularly for players using exploits that affect server stability or modifying game files, but are less consistently applied than in games like Valorant or Apex Legends. If a hardware ban is issued, the same HWID spoofer approach used for other EAC games applies since DBD's protection layer is EAC-based. For most players using information-based cheats (ESP, aura reading) where the impact is behavioural rather than server-side exploitative, account bans are the typical enforcement outcome.
