Hell Let Loose Anti-Cheat

Easy Anti-Cheat plus server admins with a live camera and a ban button, on a 50 v 50 shooter with no minimap - the bigger risk is being watched, not being scanned.

In plain EnglishThis page explains the anti-cheat that protects Hell Let Loose - the system that tries to catch and ban cheaters. It covers how strict that system is and how cheats try to stay hidden from it. No cheat is ever 100% safe, so always check a product's status before you buy.

What anti-cheat does Hell Let Loose use?

Hell Let Loose uses Easy Anti-Cheat, a kernel-level anti-cheat that loads a Windows driver with deep system access. Caught cheaters get an account ban, and our database rates its detection strength low. The guide below covers how it detects, what a ban really costs and what kind of build survives.

Hell Let Loose is a 100-player Second World War shooter from Expression Games, published by Team17. Team17’s support pages confirm it runs Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), and the developers have said since 2021 that when they find a new cheat they flag it to EAC, who then ban the players using it.

What makes Hell Let Loose different is who else is watching. Most matches are played on community servers, and their admins can follow any player through an admin camera and kick or ban from inside it. A build that EAC never flags can still get you removed by a person.

How Easy Anti-Cheat works in Hell Let Loose

EAC runs alongside the game on Windows and checks for injected code and known cheat software while you play. New cheats are passed to EAC as the developers find them, which is how a build that worked last week can stop being safe this week.

On top of EAC sits the server layer. Since Update 9, admins with the right permissions can use the Admin Camera to follow a player and kick or ban them without leaving the camera. PC players can also vote-kick, or report a player through Steam’s own reporting tools.

What a Hell Let Loose ban actually means

An EAC ban applies to the account that played. No Team17 or Expression Games post mentions hardware bans, so a spoofer is not the usual answer here. Team17 does not publish how long an EAC ban lasts, so plan as if it is permanent.

A ban from a community server is separate and covers only that server. Team17 says to appeal it with the server admin or owner, not with Team17, and that Steam VAC bans are handled by Valve.

Detection track record

We rate Hell Let Loose "Low" on client detection. EAC is real, but the bigger danger is human: admins who watch the scoreboard and the camera, and squads who report a player who always knows where the enemy is.

What gets people removed is behaviour others can see - shots through hedgerows, perfect kills at long range. Quiet information lasts longer than loud aim.

Cheating in Hell Let Loose safely

Hell Let Loose gives you less information than almost any shooter: no minimap by default, long sightlines and a front line that moves. Player ESP is the most useful tool, because knowing whether a point is held or empty changes every decision your squad makes.

Use aim help lightly at the long ranges this game is played at, and expect admins to look closely at anyone who tops the kill chart. The Hell Let Loose build we keep current is below.
