FiveM (GTA RP) Anti-Cheat
Cfx.re’s own anti-cheat issues global bans across FiveM and RedM, each server’s admins ban on top, and Rockstar’s BattlEye is switched off.
In plain EnglishThis page explains the anti-cheat that protects FiveM - the system that tries to catch and ban cheaters. It covers how strict that system is and how cheats try to stay hidden from it. No cheat is ever 100% safe, so always check a product's status before you buy. FiveM (GTA RP) uses Cfx.re anti-cheat, and its maker has not said whether it runs at kernel level. Caught cheaters get a global ban across every server (each server can ban them too), and our database rates its detection strength low. The guide below covers how it detects, what a ban really costs and what kind of build survives. What anti-cheat does FiveM (GTA RP) use?
FiveM is the platform behind modded GTA V servers, including the big roleplay communities. It is made by Cfx.re, which became part of Rockstar Games on 11 August 2023. Its current licence, last updated on 10 September 2026, is an agreement with Rockstar Games. You need a valid copy of GTA V to use it.
FiveM does not use BattlEye. Rockstar says its official community roleplay servers do not need it and their launchers switch it off. Instead, two layers watch you: Cfx.re’s automated anti-cheat, and the admins of whatever server you join. Cfx.re says its anti-cheat looks for outside programs that try to inject into the FiveM or RedM game client. If it finds an anomaly in the game process, it closes the game with a "Game integrity check failed" error. Cfx.re says that is not a ban on its own. Its advice for that error starts with removing cheating software from your PC, even software meant for other games. Cfx.re does not say at what level its anti-cheat runs, and FiveM has no Steam page to declare it. Each server adds its own layer: FiveM servers come with txAdmin preinstalled, a panel whose admins can ban players for a set time or for good. A ban from Cfx.re’s anti-cheat is global. It covers the linked account on both FiveM and RedM. Each time you try to join a server, a message says you are globally banned and for how long. Appeals go through a form on Cfx.re’s support site. A server ban is separate and covers only that server. Cfx.re does not handle those disputes: its docs say to contact the server owners, and that FiveM cannot and will not help. Rockstar’s mod guidelines also forbid cheat menus on its licensed Creator Platform, which FiveM is part of. We rate FiveM "Low" on client detection. Cfx.re says its anti-cheat has been rigorously tested to keep false positives few, but it does not publish ban figures or explain how the anti-cheat works. The server is a second judge. Its admins can ban you through txAdmin, for a set time or for good, and Cfx.re will not review that ban. On a roleplay server, anything other players can see breaks the scene they are acting out. ESP that only you can see is far quieter than teleports, spawned cars or god mode. Learn each server’s rules before you play, and remember a Cfx.re ban also locks you out of RedM.
