Anti-Cheat Guide

Dead by Daylight Anti-Cheat

Kernel EAC but with account bans and a forgiving track record - one of the lower-risk asymmetric games to cheat in, if you avoid the obvious.

Dead by Daylight runs Easy Anti-Cheat at the kernel level, but in practice it is one of the more relaxed environments we cover. Behaviour Interactive does enforce, and EAC is a real kernel driver, but DBD is not a flash-ban game and its bans are account-scoped rather than hardware blacklists.

As a 4v1 asymmetric game, the useful cheats here are about information and small advantages - aura/ESP, skill-check assistance, movement - rather than the aimbots that define shooters, which also keeps the detection pressure comparatively low.

How Easy Anti-Cheat works in Dead by Daylight

EAC handles kernel-level detection of injection and known signatures while the match runs, with Behaviour adding report-driven review. Because the cheat categories are subtle, a lot of enforcement comes from players reporting clearly impossible plays.

The practical upshot is that obvious cheating - a survivor who can never be hit, a killer with perfect aura on every survivor at all times - is what draws reports and bans, more than the cheat’s mere presence.

What a Dead by Daylight ban actually means

DBD bans are account-scoped, not HWID, so a new account on the same PC can play again - an HWID spoofer is generally unnecessary for DBD. The cost is the banned account’s progression and unlocks.

Enforcement tends to follow reports and reviews rather than instant client bans, so blatant, game-ruining play is the real risk factor.

Detection track record

We rate Dead by Daylight "Low." EAC is kernel-level, but DBD’s enforcement is gentle and report-driven, and the cheat types are subtle by nature. Quality builds last a long time here when used with any restraint.

The fastest way to get banned is to be the reason a match is unplayable for four other people. Subtlety is the whole game.

Cheating in Dead by Daylight safely

The DBD value order is aura/ESP and skill-check assistance, with movement and similar quality-of-life features. Used lightly, these improve your game without making matches obviously broken for others.

Run a private build, keep it subtle, and you are in one of the lower-risk games we stock. The DBD options we keep current are below.

Dead by Daylight anti-cheat FAQ

Does Dead by Daylight ban hardware?
No. DBD uses account bans through EAC, not HWID bans, so a new account on the same PC can play again. An HWID spoofer is generally unnecessary for DBD.
Is cheating in DBD high risk?
It is one of the lower-risk games we cover. EAC is kernel-level, but enforcement is gentle and report-driven, so subtle use of aura/ESP and skill-check help lasts a long time.
What gets you banned in DBD?
Blatant, match-ruining play that draws reports - a survivor who never gets hit, or a killer with perfect aura on everyone - far more than the cheat simply being loaded.
